It is to be noted that before this, Std. 10 examination has been canceled by CBSE and 12th examination was postponed.  The new date of the 12th exam will be announced by a review meeting on June 1.  The decision was taken after today's meeting with PM Modi.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, Std. 10 students will be given promotion through internal assessment.  If a student is not satisfied with the assessment, he / she will be able to take the exam after the condition of Covid-19 becomes normal.  Earlier, several leaders, including former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had demanded cancellation of CBSE exams due to corona virus infection.

With the cancellation of CBSE examination by the Central Board of Education, there was a demand to cancel the Board Examination of Std. 10 in Gujarat also.  There was a demand to give mass promotion to the students of standard 1 to 9 and 11.  Thus, as per the decision of the Central Board, today the Gujarat Government also took this big decision in the interest of the students and has avoided the standard 10 and 12 examinations and has decided to give mass promotion to the students of standard 1 to 9 and 11.
