Guru Purnima is considered a very auspicious festival for the people of Buddhism.  It was on this day that Lord Buddha first preached.  So this day is also called Buddha Purnima.
In the scriptures, Jupiter is given a higher status than God.  Because only Jupiter shows the way to reach God.  So one should always respect teachers.  Apart from this, parents, siblings or any such person who helped to lead us to the right path are respected by us and are like Guru. 

 Every year the day of Purnima of Ashadh month is celebrated as Guru Purnima.  It is believed that Ved Vyasji was also born on this day.  It was Veda Vyas who gave the knowledge of the four Vedas to mankind.  That is why he is considered the first Guru and the date of his birth is called Vyas Purnima and Guru Purnima.  This year Guru Purnima will be celebrated on July 24.


 History of Guru Purnima - The history of Guru in Indian culture is from ancient times.  Guru is a word derived from Sanskrit.  'Gu' means darkness and 'Ru' means remover of darkness.  This festival is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists by respecting and honoring their Guru.

 Importance of Gurupurnima- This day is celebrated to pay homage to the Gurus and the hard work, sacrifice and devotion made by them.  On this day people wake up early in the morning, take bath and take Guru's blessings.  Prays and Jupiter gives Dakshina.

 So let’s express our gratitude to our gurus this year, who are our guides.  Jupiter is responsible for taking the first step towards success.

Gurupurnima is celebrated all over India in Gurudwaras. Today is the day to give Guru Dakshina.  Throughout the year the disciple has learned something from the Guru or the Sadguru has taught something in the life of the disciple and changed the life of the disciple.  If it goes away, the welfare of human life is being lost.
 The Guru tries to change the life of the disciple by indirectly loving the disciple but the disciple has to surrender directly to the Guru. There is a unique love between the Guru and the disciple.  If Muni, Guru Mantag of Shabari, Guru Sandip's sage of Lord Kishna, Guru Tatyotope of Rani of Jhansi, and the disciples of the Mandal Panth had not become gurus, even today years later  On Guru Purnima, the day of giving Guru Dakshina to the present Guru, the idol of Maharaj was worshiped at 9 am at the Brahmalin Swami Ramananda Saraswati Ashram in the first Mandal of Mandal taluka.

  Pujan and Aarti of the entire Ram Darbar were also performed on this occasion.  Maha Prasad has also been organized for the devotees on this day.  In this way Gurupurnima festival is celebrated colorfully in the ancient place of bush near Kadvasan of Mandal taluka. Hundreds of people take food offerings and Santvani is organized at night. Similarly, Gurupurnima festival is also celebrated at Maha Mandeshwar Rameshvardasji's ashram on Malanpur village road.  Gurupurnima is also celebrated at Shivaji Temple, Vaveshwar and Bhutnath Mahadev.  Gurupurnima is celebrated in a colorful manner at Sadguru Dham in Kankeshwari at Ashoknagar in Detroj taluka.  Hundreds of people take food offerings here. Similarly, Hanumanji of Godha, situated between Vitlapur and Vasana, also organizes Gurupurnima festival and Gurupurnima festival is celebrated in various temples and various Gurudwaras of Mandal and Detroj talukas which are benefited by thousands of devotees in India.  The festival of Guru Purnima is a festival that gives an overview of the relationship between a holy Guru and a disciple and is celebrated all over India.
