Mid-day meal resumes in the state from today, Education Minister launches scheme to serve food to children.
With this, from today, mid-day meal has started in 8 metropolitan and 2 municipal schools. From noon onwards, lunch will be available across the state. The mid-day meal scheme will be launched across the state from April 1.
The Mid Day Meals scheme in the state has been closed for the last two years i.e. 746 days due to Korona epidemic. Students were paid grain and cooking costs instead of lunch. Now that the schools have started regular again, the mid-day meal scheme has been started again from today. Education Minister Jitu Waghani re-launched the mid-day meal scheme in Borij village near Gandhinagar. With this, mid-day meal started in 8 metropolitan and 2 municipal schools from today.
